Vocational Nursing Diploma – Do You Have What It Takes?

Vocational Nurses (VNs) work directly with patients, providing hands-on care. VNs are an important part of the healthcare field, supporting physicians, Registered Nurses, and Nurse Practitioners by providing patients with critical care. Vocational Nurses work in many settings, including long-term care and rehabilitation facilities, assisted living centers, medical offices, clinics, and home healthcare agencies.

Graduates of Lamson’s Vocational Nursing program will be prepared to sit for the NCLEX-PN licensure examination by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).

The Workforce: As a graduate of this industry-focused program, you will be able to work in a variety of environments, including various medical practices, physician offices, and health clinics. 

Job Opportunities: As a graduate, you will be prepared for entry-level employment as a Medical Assistant, Clinical Assistant, Administrative Assistant, and/or Medical Receptionist.

Applied Skills: As a graduate, you will have learned about medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, administrative office skills – medical charting and filing, customer service skills, and various routine medical procedures. You will be prepared for the NCLEX-PN licensure examination by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
